Restoring data from Bytebaq

Restore files or folders onto your current computer
  • Open Bytebaq and select "Restore" from the File menu. This will open a window where you can see all the folders currently backed up in the vault. You can expand a folder and see the files inside it by clicking on the + to the left of the folder.
  • Choose the files or folders you wish to recover and click the Restore button. Bytebaq will retrieve all the requested data to a folder on the desktop.

    Multiple versions
    Up to 3 versions of files that change are stored in the Bytebaq vault. If you know the latest version of a file is corrupt, you can restore a copy from an earlier date by clicking on the + to the left of a file to see all the available backup dates.
 
Restore files or folders onto to a new computer

If you've replaced a computer and want to restore your data onto this new machine

  • Download the correct version of Bytebaq onto the new computer and install it.
  • Click on the desktop icon desktop icon and select the “Restore Data” radio button on the Registration screen and enter your Account name and Password. It will take a few minutes for Bytebaq to download the list of available data to the computer.
  • You can be selective about which data you recover or download everything in the vault to the new computer.

    Downloading information to a new machine does not remove it from the vault. This new computer will now backup into the existing Bytebaq account.
 
Bytebaq Professional Accounts
Bytebaq Professional account holders can request a that full data set be delivered on DVD or encrypted disk. There is a charge for this service. Contact sales at Bytebaq dot comto order this service.
